You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!!! :-@

Have just found out from my moronic, male chauvanistic pig of a father in law (whom we currently live with) that he expects me to be home from the hospital after having a tah plus bso after 2 days and has told me that i have to return to doing all the cooking, washing and cleaning etc, and has told my husband that he is not allowed to lift a finger to help me cos as he put it...."UR THE FEMALE, UR MEANT TO DO IT NOT THE MALE, SCREW THE FACT U'VE HAD SURGERY THAT JUST A POOR EXCUSE FOR WHAT U AS A FEMALE R MEANT TO DO" .......... Grrrrrrrrr £^[_»¥§£^€}₩¥§}£»^!!!!!!!!!!!!! How would he like it if he had just had abdominal surgery done and i told him that he's a male he should be out there mowing the lawn etc while he still had either stitches or staples or whatever the surgeon decides to use, nah he would prob just sit there and whinge and complain like he does already the §£}»_[€₩»¥ old chauvanistic so and so.........

Sorry for the rant and as u may be able to tell the anger also. But seriously if thats how he thinks and expects of females he should go back to the early 1900's where females were treated like 2nd class citizens. :-@ :-@

Uhm... wow.
Is your husband actually going to go along with this outrageous nonsense?
Do you have a friend or family member you can stay with for a couple of weeks post op?
This does not sound like an environment that will promote a good recovery.

Get a note from your surgeon stating your post surgical limitations. Also, a taser may not be a bad idea. JK, not really. I agree with the previous poster, go stay somewhere else to recover if possible. You certainly do not want to develop complications from doing too much too soon. Good luck.

DeliaDeLyon is right. Wow. I can't imagine having to deal with that post-surgery. Healing is a full-time job! If you do have somewhere else to go, that would be a good idea. You will need somebody to cook and clean and care for you, not the other way around. I'm hoping he's just a blowhard and doesn't mean all that ridiculousness and he will come around. Otherwise he sounds completely unreasonable.

Re: You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!!! :-@

Thankfully my darling hubby doesnt agree with what his father has said he is a sweet guy who is willing to help me out as much as he can while i recover which i really appreciate from him especially since his hip is stuffed and is waiting on a hip replacement surgery and that on most days he cant walk far without it collapsing on him, let alone stand for extended periods of time.....but he wants to and is willing to do all that he can for me....he actually told his father to go and shove it.....gee i love <3 him so much :-D <3

Re: You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!!! :-@

I'm happy your DH has a great attitude. He sounds like he's very supportive. just try to ignore grumpy FIL. Try not to let him bother you. You need all that energy for healing....but sometimes a girl just has to vent!

Re: You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!!! :-@

I wouldn't even bother getting a note from my doctor to prove that you aren't able to physically do things post op. I just wouldn't do it! I would also be trying to find someplace else to recover! But I'm the kind of person that would have told him to go straight to hell a long time ago! Seriously, try and find someplace to recover where you can get the rest and support that you are going to need for several weeks,

Re: You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!!! :-@

WHAT? Oh the things I want to say, but I can't because I must abide by the rules to this site. My dh wouldn't have stood for that for one second. I wouldn't have either I do believe in respect, but to give respect you must get respect! That is just ignorant for anyone to say such a stupid, stupid, dumb *** thing! GRRRRRRRR!!!!! Don't you dare go home after major surgery, and lift a finger. You need to heal, and you only get one chance to heal correctly. It's you that would have to deal with post complications, not him or anyone else....you I'm sorry you are having to deal with such ignorant people in your life. Please take it easy. Good luck to you!!!!!
