Has anyone experienced allover leg pain?

Hi to all,

I had a LAVH-BSO on Feb. 13. I have been doing pretty well, although I have overdone it a couple of times. The latest problem is for the past three nights I have had really bad general pain throughout both legs. it is not a stabbing or shooting pain, more like an aching. Today, it has started early. I don't know if this is related to lying around alot or the surgery....I have been walking on the treadmill some. I know there is some danger of bloodclots from surgery, but I think I am past that phase. I think I am doing well and then try to go out and do something and feel exhausted and overwhelmed. I finally got out to the grocery store on Thursday and had some sudden bleeding. I had been having a little to that point, but that was heavier. I don't know what to do about the leg pain....the pain medication doesn't seem to help much. Last night, I lay on a heating pad all night. Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone experienced allover leg pain?

I may not be much help, but here are the the reasons I have had leg aches. If I am dehydrated my legs will ache terribly. I also noticed many of my leg aches went away after I started taking my Calcium faithfully--check with your dr about how much is appropriate for you. And yes, inactivity can give me achy legs.

I hope you are able to find out what is causing your leg aches and can find a solution to help.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I will try the calcium......and talk to the doctor when I go back this week. I noticed you also had a LAVH years ago. How has your experience been? How long did it take you to get back to work? My surgery was nearly two weeks ago and I don't feel ready to get back to normal yet. Thanks again.

Has anyone experienced allover leg pain?

I had achy leg pain also, I was worried about blood clots and I called my dr. I spoke to the nurse and she told me it was because during surgery they bind your legs. I am 8 weeks post op and the pain has been gone for about 3 weeks. My advise is if you are worried call your doctor, I called mine several times

Has anyone experienced allover leg pain?

Hi noellesc
As I ended up with numerous complications after my hyst, there is no way to compare my recovery time to a "normal" recovery! (We think I was nicked during surgery and that set off a chain reaction of complications!) For instance, it was six months before I was allowed to ! I was a stay at home mom and my MIL had to help take care of me and my kids during the day for many, many weeks! She was truly an about it.

I did recover fine from my LAVH and have no regrets. I do wish you the best and hope you do not try my style of recovery! It is not recommended!
in there!

I am experiencling the leg pain also. They just ache most all the time now. Didn't do this before surgery. I am moving about and walking alot. I have been going to the store and in and out of the office so I have not been really "inactive". I also have been taking calcium. Not helping. Dr. gave me a prescription of motrin and that is not helping either. Wish I knew what to do.

I also had bad leg pain...I narrowed it down to lack of water. Try drinking more and see if it helps any.

Electrolite depletion from dehydration can cause it. Been there... Done that.. Won't do it again!

Has anyone experienced allover leg pain?

I had the leg pain also, and ended up calling my doc. The pain wasn't constant or everyday. But it did keep me up at night for a couple of nights. Doc never said much about it except to increase fluid intake. I believe I have heard that a lack of certain minerals such as the calcium, magnesium, potassium ...can all have effects such as the leg pain. The other thing I notice for myself (and this was pre-surgery as well) is that I get "referred pain" to my thighs when my lower back muscles are hurting. So every time I had a period or any swelling there, I also hurt in my legs. I had never heard of referred pain until I started visiting a chiropractor, but have also had my reg doc (a DO) also refer to it as such.

Hope you feel better soon!
