bowel prep

My dr. had me on clear fluids only the day before surgery, an enema the night before and nothing after midnight. When I asked why this was necessary she told me the last thing I needed when I came out of surgery was to need to have a b.m. so this was just a precaution so my body didn't have anything to rid itself of- not to mention how painful it could be.

Once she explained it that way, I had no problems doing the enema

I am a 10/6 girl too. As for the dreded bowel prep. I have to do it starting tomorrow. Clear liquids all day. Then at 1pm and 4 pm Fleets phospho soda mixed w/ H2O, followed by more water and 2 antibiotics and 2 flagyl. Then MORE H2O. Then at 7pm 2 more antibiotics and 2 more flagyl. Then to top off the fun before I leave to have my insides yanked out at 6am, I have to give myself a Fleets ENEMA. Now, of course I understand that giving myself an enema is better than getting on given to me, unless I were into that sort of thing which, I assure you, I am not, especially after "going" through what I will have ahem, gone through tomorrow!
