complication recovery

Hello ladies. I'm glad I found a forum dedicated to this issue. I had a TLH and was recovering at home when massive bleeding started. I was rushed back into the OR but the bleeding had already stopped, so the Drs. suspect a coagulation problem and they will do more tests. I'm back home now with no post op pain, but extremely weak and dizzy . I feel like crying often, which is the only thing I don't understand. Could this be a hormonal side effect? The Dr. left an ovary and took the other one. I came to terms with the procedure a long time ago and was actually looking forward to it as it would end a lot of problems. My plumbing never worked properly anyway, so I don't think this is related to the grieving that is normal after diagnosis. I did that a long time ago. Since you have been through this as well, I would like some advise on what to expect.
Bless you all for all the support you give.
Ali

Hi Ali,

What you're feeling is perfectly normal at this stage of recovery! Even if you have an ovary left, your body, including the ovary, has been traumatized by the surgery and it will take a while to get back up to speed. It should get better for you, but if it doesn't after a little while, be sure to talk to your doctor about it. Best of luck with the rest of your recovery!

We're glad you found us, too!

I'm sorry you've had problems and hope things will settle down very soon. It's still very early in your recovery and it takes a good while to get over such major surgery.

It may help you to read our HS <link> Post-Op Checkpoint Weeks 3-4 which is packed with useful information. Don't hesitate to contact your doctor if you're at all concerned at any point.

Wishing you all the best for a smooth recovery from here-on-in!
