Anyone else a member of a Curves?
I am a member of my local Curves (gym) and havent been able to go for quite a while, due to my gallbladder surgery in July and then my hysterectomy in Aug. Anyone else here go to a Curves and how long after surgery did you have to wait to go back. I saw my doc at 2 weeks post-op, but knew I was to early in recovery to even ask about working out. I had an appt with him on Fri. last week, but he had to cancel due to an emergency surgery. All I know is that I have got to do something, even if it is just walking everyday, because my appetite has come back and I will gain back all I have lost. (Which was 25 lbs.)
Also, can I take a bath now? I will be 6 weeks post-op Mon.
Thanks!!

curves too
Hi,
I'm a member of Curves, too, and I haven't gotten the all clear to go. I really miss it and I had lost some inches, although not pounds. I have been going since mid March. I have lost 8 pounds since surgery and want to keep it going.
I hope I will not be a total lump of lard by the time I can! I don't know if they will let me do it after 6 weeks or not. I am only 3 weeks out.
Let me know when you get the all clear!

regarding curves
Iam a member but have not been in quite a few months due to periods all the time. But now that all of that has been fixed I plan on going back soon. I had my 4 week visit last wed. and my dr. said i could resume all excercises at 6 weeks if I feel up to it. I have been walking about 45 minutes every day, but I don't think I'm up for going back yet. I am really looking forward to working out again, but I think I will wait a few more weeks, tummy is still sore and swollen.

I am a member of curves too. I sure miss going. I am 4.5 weeks post op. The doctor said 6 weeks before going back. I put my membership on hold for 8 weeks just in case.
This recovery thing is a bit boring!

Anyone else a member of a Curves?
I went back at the beginning of week 6 post-op. The only thing he said to me was to take it slow and not do the squat machine.

Love curves, too.
I went back to Curves at 6 weeks, but did it at the slowest pace, sort of matched the ones over 70. Never broke a sweat and did two rounds and stretches. The stetch over my head with my hands locked gave a tiny discomfort in the stomach muscle. That was the only complaint I can make, I slept fine and had a little swelly belly. I went twice a week for two weeks (very slowly) and then started to return gradually back to my regular scheldule.
Now I'm 3 months postop and also doing linedancing twice a week. My incision will itch occassionallly so I try to wear jogging type clothing to eliminate the rubbing from my jeans.
Regretfully my scale is still sneaking up, but I know I'm putting way too many snackfoods in my mouth!!!!!! I've been going to weight watchers for a year and have been lifetime since Christmas so I have to buckle down before the holidays overtake me or pay the price of admission........
Hope this helps you ladies. Remember to listen to your body and proceed with caution. We all have different healing rates.

Anyone else a member of a Curves?
My DH bought me a very good cross trainer for my birthday in February, I used it quite a lot for the first couple of months - now it is just a dust magnet sat so lovingly at the back of me when I sit @ my PC, I am still in the PJ, jogging pants stage of my recovery and keep thinking maybe I will use it after my 6 weeks check up. I will let you all know if I eventually get up off my chair shaped butt and use it

Anyone else a member of a Curves?
I'm thinking I need to "Love Curves"! I've got to do something to exercise. I'm an unusual sister...I don't need to lose weight I just need to strengthen, ya know? Get strong, healthy, think of those bones etc.
I've NEVER exercised....I hate sweating. I always feel intimidated when I go somewhere and there are real "healthy" buff people working out. Years ago a Dr. wanted to send me to Gold"s Gym for a trainer...ARGH!!!!!!! I thught I'd die!!
Been really wimy, wussy about pulling my tummy! I'm now 3 months out and my excuses are failing me. Curves is right on my corner.....Give me some prodding, advice or other recommendations!
Thanks!
