repair incision in perineal area real sore

I had hyster/cystocele/retrocele repair and sling on 3/29. I have a repair incision in my perineal area and when I urinate it is so sore on one spot. It feels as if it is on fire. I looked and it isn't pulled apart, but does have 1 red area at the base before anal area. My doc is in Hawaii until Monday. Has anyone experienced this? I'll call the resident on call tomorrow if it isn't better.

I haven't had that repair but I did have a split there once, so I know how it can feel! Like salt in an open wound!

Did you call someone else in the end? In any case, I hope it's better real soon and the rest of your recovery is going well.

I had the same surgery and I would, at times, have areas that would get sore, and would burn after I urinated. That usually would only last a day or two, and then they'd seem to heal. I figured it was areas of "fresh tissue" being exposed after stiches started coming out. This feeling came and went for about 5 or 6 weeks. I did still have some stitches that were firmly in place at 6 weeks. I didn't feel "normal" in that area until about 8 weeks.

Wow, I had the same work done and yes I have a very painful spot the feels like it is being jab with a needle and burns if urine hits it. It seems every couple of days it feels worse and then the next day is better. Went in 1 wk post op for it and the MD said it was r/t the repair of the muscles right there and she m ight have went in deeper in the muscle in that area and it will take longer to heal. The pain will increase and then it seems "hard" along side of incision. Then the next day it is not as hard and not as painful. It sure does make me sit down and get up slowly though. eek! It does make me feel a little better knowing someone else is feeling the samething. Good luck
