Pain and crying bouts

Hi everybody i had my hysterectomy on the 26th of august and I'm in pain, having crying bouts, not the fact that i lost my uterus its the fact I'm tired of being in pain.
My doctor said on friday that my surgery took a little longer, because my uterus was bigger than he thought, it was the size of being 5 months.
I go back on friday september 3rd for a week checkup and probably to get the staples out, yuck.
I am going to find out if the dr. knows why it was so big.
I'm happy that this is over with but right now I'm just tired of being in pain in my back I'm not use to lying on my back I'm used to lying on my side or my stomach, not working very well right now.
My husband is doing everything for me before he goes back to work, bless his heart he is trying so hard, he just don't know what to do sometimes, but i just let him know I am ok this will pass.
More on the doctor report later.

Kim

Re: Pain and crying bouts

HI Kim,
You have been through alot, your body has been through alot your emotions will certainly go haywire at times. Everyone is different in terms of their emotions and what they experience.
If you have pain meds and you need them by all means take them. If you are having a reaction like I have read some have to the ones they were prescribed then speak to your dr about changing them. Obviously though pain is a part of the healing process for some and don't try to tolerate it by going the hard way out and not taking your meds becuase your body will just use up more energy trying to fight the pain rather than heal. Be well!
I am hoping your pain goes away soon and your emotions settle as well. Remain positive and give yourself time to heal and recover. God bless.
Hugs!

Re: Pain and crying bouts

Hello Kim,

Your mind body and soul has been through a lot. Take your meds and remember this is the healing pain which gets better.... not the sick pain that is scary and endless.
I like to sleep on my side or belly...... get a body pillow or fluffy towels or smaller pillows and try different positions. Once I could get my puffy belly in the right spot and took my pain meds I could sleep for awhile in modest comfort.
Be well and good luck.
