Extreme pain, did I rip something open??

Hello! On March 6th I had a hysterectomy via Davinci Robotic assist, everything taken but right ovary was left. 10 years prior I had a hernia repair that lead to alot of scar tissue that was attached to the bowel, stomach muscles, bladder, etc. My doctor had not seen this before, lucky her assistant had. They had to remove this, so I was in a terrible pain. I am also allergic to anti-inflamatories, so they could not give me the toradol or whatever it is that they give people to help with pain. Found out hysterectomy not actually needed, all pain was coming from the scar tissue.

A little background on me: I am a stubborn mule and need things done a certain way. I do not like to rely on anybody for anything. (one of my HUGE faults). I returned to work on day 13. (I know, too early but I work in an office on the computer all day).

I finally turned the corner on the whole pain thing this past Tuesday. On Friday I had a melt down because my darling family was no longer being as helpful as they were the first 2 weeks. I cleaned the house, stripped the beds, vacumed the house including steps. By noon, I was in immense pain and it has not subsided. I can barely walk and every footstep feels like someone is stabbing me in the right side. I am nauseous, lightheaded, chills, swollen abdomen and blood pressure is up (149/97). And my doctor left this week to Europe for a vacation.

Could I have ripped open my stitches? Is this normal? Tuesday will be 4 weeks out.

I tried to call the doctor today and they won't make an appointment for me until morning, which I will do. Just want to make sure it can wait til morning.

Thanks
Stacy

After all that activity, I'm not surprised you are in a lot of pain. Glad you called your doctor ... It is good to check. But honestly, you have to let other people handle the house etc. Remember, they removed parts out of you and you had a lot of stitches in there. At only 4 weeks, it's normal to be tired and sore still. I think you are doing way too much! Slow down ... You don't want to hurt yourself. Take care ...

Oh gosh - that vacuum can be hazardous to your health! I'd be worried too - good thing you called them, but did you tell them about your BP and lightheadedness? Be very careful, be cautious, and take care - good luck to you!!
