week 8, back at physical job-exhausted
I'm a chef for a private club so the hours aren't bad (compared to restaurant work) and I'm fully staffed for our busy summer season which is a good thing because 6 hours a day is really all I can manage (I also commute 10 miles round trip on a bike). Then I go home and nap, then spend the rest of the time on the couch feeling like a sack of lead and then crash our for my 8-9 hours of sleep!
Please tell me my energy will come back fairly soon! I haven't even started doing any ab work because the bending and twisting at work is more than enough for now (after my first day at work I felt like I had been doing sit ups all day :-(
How are others of you with physical jobs doing?

Re: week 8, back at physical job-exhausted
You sound like you are doing too much, especially with the bike riding. I went back to a sit at desk job at 6 weeks and I was very tired (and I was in shape before having surgery). I would say it takes several months to heal from major surgery with organs removed.
I was also very surprised how tired I was for some time, but with rest, healthy diet, and time it does get better.
Hang in there
