Problems starting to arise. Regrets and Fear?

My surgery was November 14th and I have felt pretty normal since week 2. In other words, very little pain, no mood swings, no hot flashes, etc.

Soooooo, my hot flashes got progressively worse and now I have to strip off my jacket any time I go in a store, or sit in my car, and of course in bed. I expected that.

What I didn't expect was the racing heart and exhaustion. I bought one of those pulse rate watches. My husbands is always around 74, which is normal. Mine NEVER drops below a 100. I am usually somewhere between 107 and 148. I am also Always exhausted. I used to be able to stay up until 11 to watch CSI and all the good shows...now I am lucky if I make it to 9.

I have gained about 10 pounds, my blood sugar has been wonky, my libido has vanished, I burst out into tears at every little thing, my skin is so oily, and ugh...life just sucks right now.

Anyone else suddenly having issues? is this normal? I am really concerned about my heart and the depression and exhaustion.

You should call your Doc. Sounds like you may need some HRT. Or maybe they can do something else for you.

I am so sorry you are dealing with these menopause issues.

I definitely think you need to talk to your doctor. Though I know you are trying to avoid ERT because of your endometriosis diagnosis, your poor quality of life with your current symptoms and the risk to your long term health may sway the balance toward using ERT or looking from an alternative option. A low dose of ERT, maybe with some progesterone, could be enough to help with the symptoms and yet keep endometriosis at bay. Or, one of the off-label alternatives to ERT could give you symptoms relief. Some women use an anti-depressant for some menopause symptom relief, others are finding some success with Clonidine (a blood pressure medication), and others with Neurontin (an anti-seizure med). There are some other meds being explored as options as well. Besides an off-label medication, possibly your surgeon or GP could help you treat each issue individually.

I know this can be rough but in there! There is hope and there are options, you just have to find what will work for you and that can take time and patients. If your surgeon is not helpful, talk to your GP. If neither can help, find a doctor who can.
