Happy New Year?

Hi,

Of course, I am new to the site. My surgery is sheduled for tomorrow! The irony of it all is that I was hoping getting this "over with" at the beginning of the new year would help me to think of it as a fresh start, a new begiining to making my life better. Well, ha! I am really fighting to just NOT change my mind. Not because I think it is not a good decision.. but because I don't want to loose another body part. U see,, I am a breast cancer survivor of 15 years and had to loose a breast. The lining of my cervix is thickening and my doc has been recommending the hys ( or hissss..terectomy) for 3 years. I don't want to push my luck for cancer going to my other organs but at the same time I feel like I am sacrificing really good friends. I miss my orgs already and I haven't even had the srugery. So now I know I have an emotional baffle to fight, I am depressed and crying..something that is NOT characteristic of me. Thank God for His presence and Thank God for all of you. Why am resisting this so? I want to call to cancel the surgery..so maybe some words of encouragement might help.

Thanks

I'm so sorry that you are going through so much, but I think it's perfectly normal to mourn the loss of your "good friends." But just remember that sometimes friends can become detrimental to our lives, and that is when we must say goodbye. Good luck with your decision, and I'll say a prayer for you.

There is a forum you can visit, it's called Aching Hearts, here is the link: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/for...p?s=&forumid=8 It a place where you can talk about grief, depression and other emotions relating to hysterectomy and loss, and most of the other members posting there can truly relate to what you're going through, maybe even more so than here on PreOp.

Best wishes and some more s
