Re: Wow! Glad it's over

I am glad you feel so good but be aware that women often feel great right after surgery and then a few days later, reality hits. I attribute it to the "euphoria of surviving the surgery". I am concerned about your comment of returning to work on Thursday. By my calculations, that is at 3 days post-op. I don't know what kind of surgery you had but I was just getting out of the castle at 3 days post-op and in no shape to return to work. Does your doctor approve of you returning to work so soon? Even if you had minimally invasive surgery, all of your insides still need to heal and they don't heal any faster than the rest of the ladies who have major abdominal cuts. Just so you know, without any major complications, we are about 40% healed at six weeks, 80% at six months and it takes a full year for us to get back to 100%. Good luck with your healing!

Re: Wow! Glad it's over

Hi Joni!!

Congratulations on a successful surgery!!! The gas is totally THE worst isn't it? If you're in pain, be sure to take your meds...it'll help allow your body to focus on healing instead of the pain.

Thursday seems a bit early to head back to work...did your clear you this soon? Please be sure to take it slow and easy! You shouldn't be doing any pushing, pulling, or lifting for a while. Even if you're feeling great, your body has a LOT of healing to do inside.

You should also check out your Progress Recovery Thread for the week that you had surgery. This is a great place to meet other ladies that had surgery the same week as you. I found it extremely supportive and helpful during my recovery.

Re: Wow! Glad it's over

Hey glad its over also seems the hardest part is waiting for this to be over. I had DvTH 3 weeks ago today and your return to work 3 days post op is really concerning. Seems like all the ladies who've had issues were the ones who did not take the time to heal. You may feel find but there was some MAJOR things going on on your insides. Do take care.

Re: Wow! Glad it's over

Thank you ladies I'm only returning to work two hours a day but the doctor was ok with it! I will make sure I'm extremely careful as right now I do lunch monitoring for our schools so I will get to walk around and get fresh air! The gas pain in my shoulder and stomach is the worst!
