belly concerns

Hi ladies, I am 2 weeks post op today and finally starting to feel alive again. i am pleased how everything went but concerned about the lump overhanging my tummy. Just wondering will it ever go back to normal. I am not a large lady but i had a blood clot on one side of my tummy after surgery, That side hangs over more than the other side. I am a single lady and would most embarrassed to flash my body naked at this point. Hoping that in time it will flatten and look better. Anyone else's tummy overhang like this? Regards to all Marie

I am 6 weeks post TAH. I was thrilled to look in the mirror over the weekend and see a relatively flat tummy. I thought it just might be a fluke, and the swelling would come back. It has a little, but nothing like before.

thanks for your reply Barb. Nice to know that in time things will improve. Did you do any tummy exercises yet or has your tummy flatten on its own with time?

At 10 weeks out I am thrilled that my tummy is flatter than it has been in years (except when I over do things & swelly belly attacks me).

I am quite skinny and was told at my post op that I may be left with a slight lip over the top of the scar - I wasn't impressed at that at all. But it is going down & is much less than it was so I am hopeful!

I've not done any exercising. The swelling just went down on my own. I do have that slight lip over the scar too, but it's nothing like where I could have been mistaken for pregnant in the early weeks.

I too remember wondering if I would ever just feel and look fine again. Then one day, I woke up and I was.
