I was so hoping that I would not crave chocolate still around the time I am supposed to have my period. I guess I am not so lucky. Anyone else still have the same cravings?

Yep, its not chocolate for I still have the box that a friend gave me in the hospital. I think I ate 3 pieces and its just sitting there. I am craving sweets like the dickens. It's really awful.

I have a chocolate bar every day. It is a proven mood lifter. Definitely lifts my moods. I love Snickers!

I used to crave chocolate all the time. Since my surgery I want it, but I don't have to have it anymore. I still have three boxes of chocolates that were given to me as get well gifts and I haven't opened them.

Well, thats one thing that has really changed for me! I use to have to have chocolate every week and now it makes me sick. I had some right after my surgery and got nauseated, and then some around Christmas, and it did the same thing. So what ever the reason for it, I havent had to have it around anymore! I don't crave sweets like I use too either, thats another blessing along with no more periods!!!!!

I absolutely get PNS symptoms including the chocalate cravings. The only difference between pre hyst and post hyst has been pain and bleeding. I still get all of the other symptoms. I'm not gonna complain, it beats the heavy bleeding etc.

I don't particularly crave chocolate anymore. However, chocolate does contain mood altering substances. It's an amino acid (I think) called anandanine which is chemically similar to THC, the substance in marijuana which gets you high. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately) it would take about 25 pounds to achieve the same high as a marijauna blunt.
