Swelly belly???!!!???

hi all. Me again......
Ive read alot about this swelly belly, but mine has been all lovely and flat as a pancake.......... UNTIL TODAY!!!!!!! Im 10 days post op and wondered if it was normal to get this at the later stage rather than straight away. Also, I still have painful wind, any ideas how long this will last.
Thanks girls, sorry to be a pain.
Love Katey x

Swelly belly???!!!???

Could it be that you are moving around more now, and that is why you are swelling more? I've had swelling off and on from the beginning, but not always the same amount. Some days I have very little and some days I avoid panties and wear my biggest night gown...

If you are concerned you could always contact your doctor's office and see what they say.

Maybe another sister who has had an experience similar to yours will see this post.

Swelly belly???!!!???

>grin<

I had a nightgown day three days ago.....I'm weeks post op. Today I'm wearing 'street clothes'.

I expect to have big days and not so big days for awhile longer.

Swelly belly???!!!???

I find that when I get up in the morning my belly is a lot flatter than at bed time. The more I move around and resume my daily activities I get swelly belly as the day goes on. I to still have a lot of wind following me around but it is getting better.

Swelly belly???!!!???

For my first two weeks post op,I had lost 6 pounds and my stomach was flat! I was sooo excited, I thought, "Swelly belly?! What's everyone talkin' about?!" No...not the case anymore!!!

I am 5 weeks post op and I would say about the beginning of week 4 is when swelly belly reared it's ugly head! I know have it with me constantly...no matter what I do or when I do it, it's there (except for mornings it is a l-i-t-t-l-e smaller but not much).

I had my 5 week check up yesterday and my doctor said I will be surprised that in a month's time I will see it go down a lot. Hmmm...I hope she's right!

Best wishes for a great recovery!

Swelly belly???!!!???

I'm 13 wks out and still have that swelly belly by the end of the day...I watch it grow by the hour (at work) sitting at my desk! Still have the gas, too! But, that's ok - sure beats having pain 24/7 and bleeding all the time...hopefully it will get better one day!

Swelly belly???!!!???

I got my Swelly Belly at week 4, it does have a lot to do with our activity during the day. I too lost weight after surgery 9lbs however it has found its way back. Today I walked my first 4 miles and wore my Swelly Belly Band, I am trying that by day and a heating pad by night. I plan on beating this pregnant look. I am at week 5...I know I have a ways to go to look normal again. Good Luck to all

Swelly belly???!!!???

I had swelly belly from the minute I woke up from surgery...it felt all spongy and swollen...yuck!

I was also swollen all over the rest of my body...feet, arms, hands, and legs. Thankfully, the swelling went out of my body within one week post-op.

Like one lady said, when I wake up it is slightly flatter but by the end of the day it has at least doubled in size.

I tried on some of pre-surgery clothes and they all still fit okay *except* in the tummy!! Sheesh.

Like another post said, it is better than having periods and all kinds of other horrible feminine problems.

swelly belly

I understand where you are coming from. I am 7 weeks post op vaginal hysterectomy. My stomach was flat and now is swollen, cramps and I have back pain. The pressure seems worse than before surgery. Do you feel this way as well?
