Can't scratch my itch!

My tummy is starting to itch some, but I can't scratch it because the area is still so numb. It is SO IRRITATING!

Can't scratch my itch!

Hi spaceytracey72,

Boy, I remember that awful itching around my healing incision!! I would very lightly run my finger tips (not nails) along either side of the incision(not directly on it) and that did seem to help. Another thing that helped was a cold pack. Mostly though, it just itched. It does get better as the healing progresses. I hope yours feels better soon.

S,
Kay

Can't scratch my itch!

Oh yes, I remember it well.
Drove me insane for a couple of weeks then eased off again. Scratching didn't help at all, but I found patting the area seemed to give some relief - probably moved things a little inside and found the irritation. Also used vitamin e cream on the outside to combat dry skin.
Here I am 4 months down the track and last night I had another bout of the unscratchable itch. I guess things are still healing inside where the nerves need to find each other again. Probably a good sign, as it means they are finding each other. Hopefully it means the numb area will fade too - that still feels weird when I lean up against something.
Good luck with the itch.
Happy healing!

Can't scratch my itch!

I'm over 8 months post op and I still get the "unscratchable itch". PLUS I'm still numb in the lower area of my incision. Oh well, if thats my only problem I'm doing good.

Can't scratch my itch!

I remember the first time I felt that I was in the shower. While it annoyed me, I was glad to have it too b/c it meant I was healing.

Can't remember what I did for it, hope something the sisters post will help you.

Can't scratch my itch!

This is my first time here, and my first post, and I'm happy to see I'm "normal". I actually called the doctor today to see what I could put on my incision to stop the itch. She said Baby Lotion was fine. I'm going out to get some today.
