Re: swelly belly

It's been nearly 4 months for me and I still have swelly belly at night. It has gotten better, but is still coming and going.

Re: swelly belly

2 months for me. Sounds like this is pretty much the normal for most.

Re: swelly belly

Hmmm.... I was careful to loose a bit of weight before my cervix removal, so I wouldn't feel so bloated forever after. I am 8 days post-op, and I am still a bit swelly in the upper middle. BLA! It's not too bad this time around, though. I've been eating VERY light meals, with lots of water. This has definitely helped! I'm not as bloated as my other surgeries.

Re: swelly belly

Im 28 days post-op and I only get swelly belly in the evenings now. If I over do it, then it shows up earlier. Ive been back into my pre surgery jeans for two weeks, but only in the mornings..lol. It is getting better though. I think the weight loss (10 lbs) has helped with me with my clothing situation. Good luck on your recovery...we all heal a little different. Hugs!

Re: swelly belly

I am hoping it will pass..I have lost over ten pounds.. yet, it persists.. the BELLY ..especailly in the PM. This week...ok..for a few weeks I've been over doing the food and wine.. so Im hoping the combiniation of time and new year discipline will un swell my belly... ... gotta take the bad with the good, right?

Re: swelly belly

Because of my thyroid situation, I'm noticing a total weight LOSS post-LaVH of anywhere between 5-7 pounds. Water retention is part of the thyroid issue to start with, so I am TRYING to maintain a steady intake of water and tea and coffee and (water and tea and coffee....).

I was actually cleared to return to normal activity---slowly at yesterday's post-op visit, which was EXACTLY four months to the DAY of my surgery. I'm very thankful to have made such progress. God is AWESOME, y'all. I figure the swelly belly will go away in time; though I've never had a flat/washboard tummy below my belly button anyway (Fat reserves???).
I wore my size 12 Lee Riders yesterday for a good while-actually wore them TO my appointment. Not too shabby. I ain't looking to be a size 6. (Heck -last time I was a size 6, *i was 6!!!*).
So I'm taking it easy.
