Leg and back pain after sex

I am 5 1/2 wks post op full vaginal hysterectomy and was felling much better... I tried to have sex for the first time and ever since have been feeling pain in abdomen (duh) but as the past few days have gone by it has moved to my hips and back aching and after another day my legs started aching... I am having a burning sensation in my belly.. My belly also fells swollen... No fever just sharp pains and a lot of ache over most of my body now... It just seems as if it has progressed each day to more of my body... Does this sound normal or familiar at all? Please I need some advice I'm scared...

Re: Leg and back pain after sex

I've read a number of threads where gals had pain after sex. Did your doc give you the go ahead? I would hold off until you talk to him/her, and I'd call first thing in the morning just to be on the safe side.

Re: Leg and back pain after sex

Called dr this morning but they made appointment for next thurs.. I did not get the ok nor did I tell them I had sex... They told me 6 weeks and I have no other follow ups so I figured 5 days early would be fine since I was feeling quite well... Now I'm feeling a bit embarrassed about it...

Re: Leg and back pain after sex

I would say call your doctor. If you weren't cleared, you need to get checked to make sure everything is okay. Even if you were cleared, sometimes when the doctor say we can and when our bodies are actually ready are two different things.
If it were just your body aching, it could be from the lack of muscle use during yoyr recocery, but the sharp pains and burning are something different. Call your doctor. Don't be embarrassed to ask him or explain your symptoms. He should be able to let you know what's going on.

Keep us posted

Hi jana, I wrote my previous post before I saw this one. Okay, I know that you are embarrassed, but you are going to have to suck it up and let your doctor know.
Most of us assume that everything has healed well because we start feeling really good on the outside, but that's not always the case. Now, I suggest that you call them again and explain what's going on and let them determine if you can wait until next week to be seen or not. There's nothing that you can tell your doctor that he hasn't heard before. How can he help you if he doesn't know?
