Can't stop crying

I had my pre-op today and I can't stop crying. I am having cold feet and wondering if I am making the right choice. The doctor wants me to call her on Monday if I want to back out.

Hi, if you're really not sure - maybe you should talk to your dr about it. Ask questions, weigh the pros and cons and then proceed when you're comfortable with your decision.

Well, to begin with, I already have two kids, and I know how lucky I am to have them. I don't even know for sure if I want any more, but I don't know that I don't want anymore. My husband is urging me to go ahead and have the surgery as my pelvic pain is making it difficult for me to take care of the kids, and I can't work. But then he says things like, "This operation is going to destroy our family" and "kill our hopes for the future." I am so torn. My mother is very against me having the surgery. When I think about not being able to have any more children, I cry and get so depressed. I honestly don't know which way to turn. If I don't have the operation, my husband says he will have no further sympathy for my pain. But if I do have it, I'm not sure how he's going to feel and how I am going to deal with the disapproval from other members of my family.

Honey that is a tough situation that you are in..I would say to talk to your doctor and if it is something that you NEED to have done then do it ! If it is something that you think that you can live with, than live with it.. I know that for myself it is painful and I have 3 children and know that I don't want anymore. The pain to me and the heavy bleeding and cramps and headaches are enough, my DH didn't want me to have the surgery because he would have to take time off to take care of our kids..But I BOLDY put it to him ..That this is not about him this is about me and my body and I cna't live like this anymore...Let me tell ya he changed his tune quick..Now, he is just nervous like I am..
I wish you all the luck with this decision. But, remember you are the one living in pain, not anyone else..GOOD LUCK !!

My hubby isn't taking time off from work, except fpr the actual surgery, and he didn't want to do that!

I'm so sorry for you. I really think you and DH need to sit down and have a good discussion. After you get his final input, then it is your decision. It sounds to me that if the pain is so bad you can't take care of the children or work, what kind of quality of life will you have? Also, if you are in this much pain now, why would you want to have another child? After you have made your decision, please call your mom and tell her YOUR decision and ask her to support you in this difficult situation.

Ultimately, it is your body, your quality of life and your decision, please do not let anyone bully you one way or another. Do what you know to be the right thing for you.
