I feel like a truck ran over me....

I seriously feel like a truck ran over me today. It isn't a subtle 'I don't quite feel well' truck, but a 'I am under the wheels and being dragged' truck.

I have to say that the incision pain isn't too bad today, but I am having so many other problems that I don't quite 'get' and want to cry 'why me'. Oh, yeah..I have. What kind, you say? Ok, I will list...

1. My face is dry. Not a big deal, you might think, but no matter how much lotion or the kind, I feel like miserable. It is the allergic reaction to the medical tape that must've caused this.

2. I have no feeling in my left leg. And it feels weird.

3. I have a cold or a sinus infection or something... my nose won't stop running, my eyes feel heavy and I keep sneezing, which doesn't help my other pain.

4. I have a bladder or kidney infection and I am urinating blood. That just adds another pill to the mountain of medication that I have to take. Oh, and it hurts.

5. I want to sleep, but I can't. Even with the 'this will cause drowsiness' medication.

6. All I have done today is cry. And visit the doctor. And cry some more.

No, don't feel bad for me. That will make me cry again. I know that it is a matter of time before I feel better. I have faith that it will be soon. I just hope that soon is tomorrow.

Ok I will not feel bad for you so you will not cry, I will just say that i am almost 2 months post-op and I really over did it this weekend and feel really, really bad as well.
I have from day one had a numb feeling in my right leg between my hip and knee on the outer thigh. I have no feeling and doc says don't know what it is. It was ok before and not after!
I too have the dry face and find that I look like someone that has been drinking along time my face gets red.
Oh well at least I am not dealing with the problems that I used to and guess all will get better. Especially if I would not over do it. The things we do for others!

I feel like a truck ran over me....

Repeat after me

"I just had major surgery."

Write it down 100 times:

"I just had major surgery"

You are entitled to feeling like !#_!@#). No, correction. You shall feel like !@_!#_!.

Rest, drink plenty of fluids, don't life anything over 5 lbs., don't try to play Superwoman and this too shall pass.

I am 4.2 weeks out and feeling great! I was right where you were!

I feel like a truck ran over me....

I felt that way too. I was also coparing it to c-sections that seemed to be a quicker recovery, but then again, that was 17 years ago. I am almost six weeks post-op and feel much, much better. It seems like week 4 was a tremendous improvement week for me. i think everyone thinks that since this surgery is so common, that it is now minor surgery. Wrong! We have had organs cut from our bodies, and the body seems to go into shock! Hang in there, and become addicted to Hystersisters.

Prayers are with you!

I feel like a truck ran over me....

yes, I also was where you are, you did just have major surgery.

Your body and emotions need time to heal and you are entitled to feel like crap.

I had, within the first 6 weeks after my surg. , a very bad urinary track infection, then bronchitis, then an ear infection and in the middle of all these a bad migrane, a stomach virus, plus my epilepsy decides to take its turn in giving me problems, many partial seizures. Plus my allergies giving me problems.

I totally agree with all said above and since being 3 months post op, know how you are feeling. Hang in there and I would have been lost without hystersisters.

Take Care
