My TAH smooth adventure

A big hug: from the other side to all my sisters here who send me their wishes! This is my first day at home and I really feel great:!My TAH was on June 30th and I had to stay at the hospital for 5 days according to our national health safety rules.Everything went really smooth. My surgery was on 9am Saturday 30th June and the duration was only 45 minutes.I had polypodes with complex atypia and large fibroids as well.In a "last moments deal" I accepted my anesthesiologist proposal for a spinal anesthesia WITHOUT (my choice) sedation!Everything went so perfect.I could discuss with my doctors while listening soft ballads from 70's!After the surgery procedure although using the pump the pain level was not satisfactory so they gave me extra medicines which made me sleepy.Late in the afternoon I was told to wake up and sit for a while on my bed while I was allowed to make a shower if I felt able to..It was not really bad and that made me feel a little better. The other day on Sunday(2nd day) I felt much more better-no pain- but very very sleepy.I was given only liquids and on Sunday evening my first meal...boiled chicken with soup(I HATE BOTH OF THEM)I must say that I had no bowel pains. On Monday Morning everything was Much more better.I could walk pain free and hearing my stomach ......protesting.Diet free I could eat and drink whatever I want (chickens excepted).I went to a small cafe near to the hospital and I enjoyed my meal!It sounds unbelievable to me until now that my recovery has become really speedy. No special restrictions for light housekeeping activities, careful short distance driving, cooking etc.Restriction for weight lifting more than 2 kgr and sex (2 months).

Yay!! Welcome to the other side!

So happy to hear everything went well for you and that you had a smooth transition.

It is wonderful when others share their positive experiences.

I've also had a positive experience with my TAH and really love hearing other positive stories!

All the best for a smooth & easy recovery!
