Well that was quick

I guess when you know the right thing to do jumping in with both feet works. It also helps to know that you are not the only person on the planet going through this. So my hysterectomy is scheduled for May 7th. I feel very at peace with my decision and delighted at the prospect of an end to the pain. And I guess when I look at the process as a whole, it hasn't been that quick.

Thanks for your support.

Jo

Welcome!

Hi Fellow Marylander!

I live in Southern Maryland, what area are you in?

My surgery is scheduled for May 17. I needed some time to mentally prepare. Although my hysterectomy is what I wanted, needed, and was prepared for, it's still feels weird when you finally have a date! I would have done it sooner, but May 6 is my so I picked after that!!

Good luck and keep in touch!

D.

I am glad that you have a date set now.

It brings a certain sense of closure, doesn't it?

Take Care,

Have a date?

It is great that you have a date set. At least now you can prepare. That's what I am waiting for. Mine will either be May 14th or 21st, should know the end of the week.

D.- I did the same. And the funny thing is that my birthday is May 6th too!

Good luck D and Gayle. It's comforting to know that others are experiencing the same emotions and feelings that I am.

Ditto That!

I was beginning to think that I was sadistic or something. I am so happy about my decision to have a TAH, and I am glad to hear that others feel the same way. I agree with Jo, it seemed like a spontaneous decision, but really, I can speak for myself, after 2 Laps, D&Cs, and four years of Bleeding Heavy and cancelling outings, and occasions (I almost didn't go to my Grandma's Funeral last August, because of heavy flood). No, I know that this was not a decision my Dr. or I made lightly!!!

Take Care and God Bless!!!
