Had both removed due to a cyst on left and severe endometriosis.

Post-Op members only: Did you keep your ovaries?
Yes. Mine were healthy so I didnt see a need to remove them. All if my problems were because of severe adnymiosis.

I had an emergency hysterectomy on 1-30-12. I was told they'd leave one ovary but when I awoke after the surgery, I was told they had removed both ovaries.

Removed both. Dermoid cysts in both and right one gave repeated problems with cyst growing quite large

I kept my right ovary. The doc suspected endo but found none. He did find that my left ovary had some cysts and was twisted a bit. Since it was the side where most of my pain came from, he took it out. I am relieved.
