3 weeks post hysterectomy - does the scar stay a long time?

Dear Hystersisters:
I had the hysterectomy and I even had the staples taken out. The Swelly Belly left me after a week. I ended up with C. Dif and had to spend another week and a half in the hospital. The scar looks pretty ugly? Will be seeing the on the 25th of February. Does the scar stay a long time? Still have some sharp pains but not constantly. Thanks for all the info.The nurses were not nice.
