water infection & cystitis

Hiya

In December two weeks before my pre op I got a water infection and was given antibiotics I thought it had gone because I wasn't getting any symptoms so I had my op on 20th January and when the nurses removed my catheter on 22nd , they found out when I had my first wee that I had a bad water infection and high temp so the hospital started giving me antibiotics, after just 1 day on them the doctor decided to change them for a different type "Trimethoprim" I had to stay in 3 extra days because of temp and being sick so thought when I got home the antibiotics would work and I'd feel better,

I have finished the antibiotics and my wee is still stinging and I feel uncomfortable could the discomfort be the water infection and cystitis or is it just from having the major operation... should I call my G.P ,

Also I was wondering do I need to make a doctors appointment 2 weeks after my op because no one told me when to see my G.p or if I need my stitches taken out..

Im so confused please help

Re: water infection & cystitis

If you are stinging when you urinate you should probably call your doctor and get in to see him to be on the safe side. That sounds like it was a persistant infection and you would want to make sure it is gone.

Your surgeon's office should be able to tell you about when to come in for follow-up appointments for your surgery.

Good luck!
