3 weeks post hysterectomy & BSO: abdominal pain and spotting again on top of the bladder issues

I'm almost 3 weeks post op hysterectomy/bso. I have felt pretty good except for bladder issues. I am now experiencing abdominal pain and spotting again on top of the bladder issues. Is this normal I haven't really slept in 3 days. I'm becoming depressed and feel maybe I have done too much too soon. I'm trying to get my normal life back

Depression and insomnia are hallmarks of surgical menopause, so speak to your doctor about that. Also, if you have no issues with eating soy, then 1-2 daily servings of tofu, edamame, or soy milk can help with hormonal balance. I would also recommend a 6 hour caffeine curfew, and a 1 hour electronics curfew; they're both stimulants that can disrupt your sleep cycles. I find I'm more depressed when I haven't been sleeping well, so getting on top of the insomnia should help with that. Also be sure to take daily walks outside, which should help with both issues. As for the spotting, that normally happens around this time, as your vaginal cuff starts to heal, and the internal stitches start to dissolve; also, this is when we start to feel better, and may push ourselves too hard. As long as you're not filling a pad an hour, it's nothing to worry about; just take it easy for a few more weeks, and you'll be okay! Best wishes for your continued recovery!

Re: 3 weeks post hysterectomy & BSO: abdominal pain and spotting again on top of the bladder issues

Thank you for your help I do find I over do it when I feel better. I am on anti depressants but I think I'm having spousal remorse. I feel like I'm putting too much on my husband who is very supportive but has his own health issues. I will try to rest more, unfortunately hormones are a no go for me because of blood clot issues so maybe the extra rest will help. Thank you again
