Feeling the loss
Hello all,
I am 25 yr old. I had a tubal ligation done and had very painful heavy lengthy periods after words. At that time the dr. said I would be a good candidate for endometrial ablation. 6 weeks post op of the ablation I had not stop bleeding. I am now becomming very anemic and taking progestrin to try to stop the bleeding. This is my last option the dr. says and that if the bleeding does not stop this weekend then I have to have an histerectomy next week. There is no doubt at 25 I am very scared and would like a second opinion. Please if anyone could give me any advice as to what I should do next or alternatives I would greatly appreciate it.

Feeling the loss
Dear c.grone:
Here is a link to a website with message boards about ablation: http://pub76.ezboard.com/bendometrialablationboard
Perhaps the gals there will be able to help you ascertain if 6 weeks is enough time to pronounce the ablation a failure.... or perhaps they will be able to suggest an idea for 2nd opinions (or 3rd).
I hope you are able to find the right answers soon. I am sending huge cyberhugs

I would definately get a second oppinion too. I am also an ablation post op, I do know that the results of an ablation can take months, and if it is a failure they can sometimes repeat the procedure. Id look into it prior to hysterectomy. Cathy
