Help! What pill to take for what pain?

I was given Ibuprofen 600mg to be take 1 every 6 to 8 hrs. And Percocet 5/325 to take 1 or 2 every 4-6 hrs.

The first day of surgery I was ok with just the Ibuprofen. Able to get in and out of bed/recliner and on/off toilet without a problem

Day two and I'm feeling some cramping and then pulling/stretching when I take my walks around the house and to the bathroom.

I am guessing that Ibuprofen is good for possible inflammation from surgery, but will Percocet relieve the pulling/stretching feeling of the incision sites?

Re: Help! What pill to take for what pain?

I'm on a somewhat same regime. My doctor wants me to take the Ibuprofen (I take 800 mg) every 4 to 6 hours and before any activity to "prepare" me for inflammation. Then the percocet I take after activity ... I take that in the evening or at night to take care of the pain of the day.
I'm 4 weeks post op now so it's getting easier and the pain is only in the evenings or after I do something.

Feel better
