3 weeks post op

llo sisters . I am 3 weeks post-op total hysterectomy, laprascopic. For CIN III and later diagnosed as carcinoma in situ (I think they mean the same thing). My biggest concern is that, all my life, I had been religious about getting annual paps, however, the most recent (fall 2010), indicated slightly irregular cells, doc said nothing urgent, but should get a copolscopy, which indicated CINIII with glandular involvement. I sought second opinion and got the surgery, but doc is unsettled how annual paps can go from good to severe in less than a year. My biggest concern is that all the bad cells were removed with the hysterectomy, how can I be sure there is nothing left in there. Is there a blood test or something that I can ask my doc about? Today, I am feeling almost myself, although still sleeping / napping quite a bit. Doc says I can return to work on the 18th. Hopefully, I'm ready by then.

Re: 3 weeks post op

Hello there,

I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through. I'm not sure how they can tell if everything has been removed. I would speak with your doc and also do some research online. I'm wanted to bump you back up on the list hoping that someone here may have an answer.

Also, I did want to mention that I went back to work after 6 weeks. I was good the first day, tired the 2nd and so exhausted the 3rd week that I couldn't get out of bed. I called out sick. The average time to stay out is about 6-8 weeks. Do you think that there is any way the doc can give you two more weeks off? I think you will be so glad that you did.

Keeping you in my prayers.

Hugs,
Suzy
