6 months post op and still low iron

I had a laparoscopic vaginal assisted hysterectomy on Aug 30th. I bled more then expected, but healing went very well. I've had. I real symptoms or anything.

I just had my iron tested again and it's low again. Down to 26. What is wrong? I was told having a hysterectomy would help 'loads' in my iron levels since my periods were so bad. Is it possible that I'm still rebuilding my iron stores? I'm so confused.

Anyone else still have low iron after surgery?

Also, have you had your thyroid check? If not, maybe ask your doctor to check it
