Spotting 11 days after hysterectomy

I had a laparoscopic hysterctomy April 21. When I first came home there was no discharge or spotting. A few days later it was a clear discharge. 3 days ago I started with a light brown discharge and this morning it changed to a watery red discharge. Is this normal? Could I be dong to much to soon?

I kept my ovaries only. They removed my tubes, cervix, and uterus

It's normal to have spotting/discharge start and stop throughout the first 6 weeks or so. My discharge was at times pink, bright red, dark red, brown, and orange. Just when I thought it had stopped for good, it would start up again.

Spotting, swelling and increased soreness can also be signs of overdoing things. If you've increased your activities recently, you may consider taking things easier for a day or two to see if the spotting decreases.

If you begin to have bright red bleeding that soaks a pad in a hour, please call your doctor.

Good job! It can be hard to find the sweet spot of enough activity, but not too much. Add activities gradually to avoid doing-to-much-itis. If you wake up tomorrow feeling great, just do one extra activity, rather than 3. This should help decrease those down days on the couch.
