Keeping my ovaries! Yay!

I got a call from my GP's nurse today, and she told me what my FSH results were - last September 1st, and Apr 27 this year. 10 and 3 respectively. She said my doctor had told me that this showed I was not heading into menopause, and what to do with my ovaries was up to me.

So, I wrote a very respectful letter to my surgeon, outlining the facts of the matter - family history, the FSH, also when my periods usually arrived so he could gauge where in my cycle I was when the FSH tests were taken.

I also said that if he found anything medically necessary, that he could remove the ovaries.

But I said I was going on record as saying I want to keep them.

His assistant called not long after I faxed it - Dr M was there and had read the letter, and agreed that he would not remove the ovaries.
