Hi Cat.
I am also having a supracervical hyst for suspected adeno. My day is June 1. I don't blame you for worrying about the kids. It's tough to leave little ones, even for a few days. Just keep telling yourself that you'll be a much better mother without the pain and bleeding interfering. Focus on how things will be after the surgery, not the surgery itself. You can take them to the park whenever they want, not when your body dictates. You won't need to lie down or have trouble going upstairs. Your life will be so much better and you can enjoy your kids!

I truly do not know what I'd be doing without you all. I am sure that this will get worse before the "day" gets here. The waiting is terrible. And today, I found out that my gyn is going to a conference on the day I'm scheduled to have surg. That's really hard for me because I had my mind set on that day, and had all the details worked out. Originally, they said a wk earlier... I am hoping he'll make an exception for me and do it just a day earlier than originally scheduled. I just happen to work there... a little special priveleges go a long way. So, now I'm just waiting to hear if it'll work.
Your support is priceless. Thank you.

Palelady, thanks so much for your encouragement - it's wierd that hearing about someone else's pain makes me feel better, but it does!
I had an MRI today, and now have to wait wait wait for the results! I hate that....Cat, I hope you're able to find a calm spot in this rough sea as well. Take care all!

AXIEITY More for catwest, et al.
Hi catwest. It's me janerain. I had my surgery 5 days ago. I continued to be in "freakout mode" until I got to the OR. My doctor was down there with a regualr "galfest", my entire team was women. They were so pleasant that I relaxed immediately, woke up three hours later not feeling too bad considering. I feel very lucky and wonderful. Menopause stuff is kicking in and even that isn't nearly as bad as I thought. I can walk up and down the stairs....slowly. BUT ALL OF MY AVXIETY is GONE!

I am having surgery too on June 25th and, for some reason, am very nervous. Sometimes I think reading this site (even though it is great) and hearing other people talk about being nervous, makes you nervous!
So, for those of us going through this, I think we have to just support each other and realize that even though five to six weeks of recovery may seem like a long time, we are not going to have to experience all this awful monthly pain, bleeding and problems in the future.
Keep thinking positive and remember how advanced our medical system is now compared to years ago. And, just think, you can sit back and let other people pamper you for a while (which, if you are like me, is something that you are not use too!).
Good luck.
Lou

Ask For Help
Hi Cat!
I am 3 weeks post-op now from a TAH/BSO and can tell you that I was a nervous wreck before it. I worried about everything and cleaned everything. Now that it is over I can tell you that the waiting was truly the worse part. My surgery went fine and my recovery is coming along as it should but one thing I know is all the help you can arrange for ahead of time is the key. I had several friends who cooked meals and brought them over and ones who shopped for me. If someone offers.....let them or even better.....ask. I know it's hard but ask yourself, would I be willing to help my friend in this way if he or she asked? Most likely you would say...YES! Now it's your turn to receive and that's OK. I can't tell you too how much this site has helped me cope before and after. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

You all continue to be a source of continued support. I am so glad that I don't have to do this alone. It's been so great to get uplifting comments and suggestions. I now have about three weeks to go and even though I'm still nervous/anxious, as I'm sure I will be up until the Versed enters my blood stream! Whomever suggested that they prescribe that stuff for us LIW I applaud that idea! Thank you !
