Myomectomy is a no...I don't want children and don't want to risk the blood loss and potential for the fibroids to grow again. Focused ultrasound is too new for me...not enough data and the fear of regrowth. I did strongly contemplate UAE...2 week recovery, simple procedure...again I was worried about regrowth and the possibility of the fibroids degenerating and potentially wanting to be expelled.

It came down to the fact that I don't want to risk injury to my kidney or related structures, I am sick of being in pain, and I don't want children. Add to that...I am a monumental wuss about medical procedures...and just want this all over with.

Each decision is unique though.
I can't imagine a grapefruit and a cantaloupe!! I believe you and I have the same logic. I had dismissed Myomectomy pretty quickly due to the risk and blood loss.....the only one I did contemplate is the UE but after some reading and discussing with my doctor and family I believe I'm about 95% sure I will be getting a hysterectomy. If I was reading correctly your surgery is coming up....I wish you all the best and please let me know how it goes.
