How early or late should I take the Citrate?

I took Citrate 3 times, but 10 years ago..I don't remember how to do it..should I take it in the morning or late afternoon? I guess I won't be eating much dinner..what's the point? It's all going to come out anyway! LOL! Anyone have any idea about the timing? I have to be at the castle at 8 AM and my surgery is at 10 AM Friday morning. I am nervouse, but at this point I just want the "cocktail" to "relax." I hope I am knocked out cold as soon as I get there!!!

Re: How early or late should I take the Citrate?

I'd ask your doctor. I am having surgery tomorrow at 7:30 am, and I was instructed to drink one bottle of Citrate at 10 am today, then another at 2 pm.

I'm with you on the '"cocktail". Can't wait for that!!!

hugs!

You probably need to ask your Dr. But I am thinking drink it in the AM. There is nothing more miserable than being up all night on the toilet.

Re: How early or late should I take the Citrate?

My instructions say to start it at 10am and work on it thru the day. I have to drink two bottles though, so it will probably take me awhile to get them down. Anyone know what the best flavor is? I picked grape and lemon or do they all taste gross?

Re: How early or late should I take the Citrate?

I did lemon because anything that remotely tastes like watered down grape koolaid makes me toss my cookies.

I've heard some say they add crystal light to the lemon to help cover the taste, but I can't do artificial sweeteners.

Definitely get it cold as you can.

It took about 12 hours for my one bottle to do the job.

I found the lemon almost intolerable, the grape was a little easier to get down, neither of them tastes like anything remotely digestable. Have a juice chaser at the ready. xo

I remember it tasted gross...by the tird time I had to do it, I remember I was in tears! I would still rather do this than have an enema ANY day!!! Thanks for the advice.

I have my surgery on Friday at 1:30 ......I got the lemon flavor and have it in the fridge......I dont have to do mine till 6 pm along with fleet enemas starting at 9 pm and then a medicated douche as well......I am not looking forward to tomorrow at all.....but if this is the worse part than that is fine.......I just want to know how soon can I have coffee or diet coke after the surgery......I can be a total B if i dont get either....lol

Re: How early or late should I take the Citrate?

I had it in the hospital the day before surgery, that's the policy here in Belgium, they gave it to me in the afternoon, at 2.00 pm. so I was finished at 5.00pm or so. No food that day, only clear liquids!
Had citrus taste, and drinking it really cold helps!
What helped me was after drinking the stuff, drinking some water, to rinse away the taste.
So a cup of the stuff and swallow fast, then a cup of water. etc. etc.
