Introduce Myself

Hi all! I have been reading hystersisters since March 15, 2003, when I found out I had a strong possibility of having ovarian cancer. I was one of the lucky ones and it turned out to be 2 fibroids and 1 dermoid. I had a TAH and appendectomy April 7, 2003. I think I would have went crazy if I had not found this site, even though I was not smart enough until the last two days to figure out how to do anything but read on here! I lurked until last year when I finally figured out how to register. Duh! I am not internet savvy by any means. The information provided here is awesome! There is no website that compares. I have went thru several kinds of hormones, but right now the Vivelle .075 seems to be a perfect fit for me. I, unfortunately, had a very unkind doctor do the surgery, but could not find anyone else at the time, so I had to stick with him. My mother was/is in bad health and is crippled, so I could not bring her with me to the appointments. He had time and kindness for all the women who had husbands/boyfriends/mothers with them, but no time to answer questions for me, because I was alone. He even asked the day of my surgery if anyone came. They had. Most of the time Dr. spoke unkindly to me, but I was too frightened too put off surgery and try to find someone else, as I became very ill and was in serious pain. My insurance coverage had just changed on my job and all my familiar doctor's I could not go too. He was a referral from the emergency room. That's why I wanted to introduce myself at this late date. Maybe I can help someone else as I have been helped by this wonderful site. God Bless you ladies! I took something much more valuable from this experience than my doctor did. He only received money.

So sorry for the creep dr. you had to deal with. Thank goodness your not having to deal with cancer. Thanks for your post--good luck to you in the future.
