What Now ?

I will be 5 weeks tomorrow TAH. My appointment to see Dr was tomorrow but once again they called to cancel. I was suppose to see him 2 weeks after, 4 weeks and again at 6 weeks. The clinic has canceled all three appointments because one reason or another. He has surgery tomorrow so he is not seeing anyone. I just do not know where to go from here. I have pain in my belly button and across my belly. I am so sore I feel like I have been ran over by a truck. It hurts when I pee. No burning or itch just like something pulling. Do I have to wait for him to release me. I need these problems fixed. My right ovary hurts and I know that is what it is. Its the same pain as before my surgery. I called him when it started hurting and he just told me that the surgery might not help all my pain issues. I cannot get in to see him for another 3 weeks unless someone cancels their appointment. What do I do

Wow, doesn't sound much like an organized or sympathetic office! :burning:

I would be PROACTIVE...call back and tell them you have PAIN along with other issues and that you DEMAND to be seen! I would probably add: perhaps they would prefer a malpractice suit in the event they should have seen you, i.e., complications having arisen from your surgery...but that's just me. I don't lie down easily when feeling like I am being shoved aside!

DO NOT TAKE NO OR ANY OTHER EXCUSES FOR AN ANSWER!

Good luck!

I agree also. Demand that you be seen. This is your body.

Can you request that the doctor give you a call? He may not realize that you have had so many appts cancelled. I would talk to him first if you can't get an earlier appt. Be sure to mention all your pain and worry.

Remember when you are talking to appt schedulers, most of them do not have medical training and may make remarks or judgements about your symptoms that they have no business making. It is always best to talk to an RN or your doctor regarding your symptoms and need to be seen.

As for mentioning a malpractice suit...that never improves a doctor-patient relationship. Do you feel that you have been improperly treated, or are you the victim of coincidence regarding your cancelled appts? I'm asking because pre-op I had trouble with my GYN's office staff and started to blame him for it. Then I realized that unless I told him, he had no idea that I was having problems. He took me seriously and then spoke with his staff. Things are better and now I know who to ask for when I need action.

If you can't get an appt sooner, could you go to your GP for a check-up? If the GP thinks you should be seen by the GYN, maybe he/she can call and get you in earlier.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
