Ugh!! Overdid it, so done with recovery!!

I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and feeling better, but when I do certain things I'm reminded of my limitations. I'm tired of feeling helpless and limited. Trying so hard to be patient.

Re: Ugh!! Overdid it, so done with recovery!!

2 1/2 weeks is very early in your recovery. Since you really only have one chance to do this recovery gig right why not look at it as your job right now to be the healthiest you can be. Doing too much can set back your recovery and make you take longer to heal. Dishes, laundry and dust bunnies can wait.

Im also 21/2 post op and at times I feel the same way. Im often reminded of my limitations when I move a certain way to fast or just over do it. Dont get discouraged. Rome wasnt built in a day and recovery takes more than a day. Think of this as a STAYCATION!
Keep your head up and get plenty of rest.

I'm 6 weeks post op tomorrow and I'm still feeling like this. I like Lovey's thoughts about the STAYCATION. This experience is a marathon and not a sprint. Be patient! :-))

I also feel ur pain, I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op, so I have to rest as much as possible, even when I don't want too. But lets take the time now so we can be a better you later. I'm taking short day trips now which helps with the boredom, and going thru junk mail and stuff like that when I'm home. Take it easy, God bless everyone!!!!!!

Re: Ugh!! Overdid it, so done with recovery!!

I remember that feeling. I am a very busy, active person and it was so hard to not do anything. I felt much better when i was folding laundry, organizing bills, tidying counters (as tolerated) etc. I also took the opportunity to learn how to knit. I found that knitting & also playing with photo books helped pass the time and make me feel less "useless". Even at 7 weeks I am still taking it easy & get frustrated asking for help.
Hang tough, it will get better.
