Unexpected Bleeding

Good Morning Sisters,

I am 12 days post op and this morning as I was using the bathroom I spotted a little. It was two quarter sized spots on the tissue. I know post op bleeding is normal however I've had no bleeding since my surgery so this concerns me a little. Before I call the Dr. on Sunday AM I thought I'd check with my sisters to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I must confess that on Friday I did too much. I went out to lunch with friends and then went and bought a new kitchen table. Although I didn't do any lifting I was on my feet a lot longer than I should have been. I've had a bad case of swelly belly since Friday and was having a few sharp pains in my side on and off yesterday.

I'm just trying not to be panicky so any help would be appreciated.

Happy Sunday & God Bless

You are not alone!

Hey there! I had mine the day before you. I started bleeding Friday. I was constipated and pushed too hard I think. (I also went to Target for a while). I was so scared! I was bleeding like a cut. I called the nurse and she called the doctor on call. He said that a little bleeding was normal and I probably strained too hard. He said don't worry unless you can fill a pad -like a gushing period. Or have unbearable pain or have a fever over 101. I hope this helps. Just to let you know (since I'm a day ahead of you), I woke up this morning to find my incision bleeding. I'm here to find out if this is normal so I don't have to panic again.

This does help. It's a little discouraging when you feel so good funny how our bodies tell us lay down and rest dummy.

I hope your incision is OK, we took my steri strips off yesterday and my incision looks to be healing very well. My only complaint is I'd love to just scratch, scratch, scratch.

Good luck on getting answers. Thanks for your post.

I haven't gotten there yet, but my doc did tell me when I asked how long the discharge would last, he said up to 2 weeks and then would likely reoccur when the internal stitches disolved. You may have had a stitch pull out too.
