update lydia/something else to deal with

Hello Sisters:

This weekend, was miserable...I was in so much pain..So bad was the pain, that when i got off of work Sunday morning(i work at night) that my Supervisor asked me to stay and lay down for a while so i could be in good shape enough to drive home.

I tried calling my Physician while at work, but they said that they only had after hour calls for OBstetrical patients and that i would have to go to the E.R., so i just went home, i could not see myself going to e.r. just to be told to see the doc next morning and leave with nothing. So i went home and was on the heating pad all night and up to 11 this morning.
I managed to get myself ready and drive to the Orthopedic doc,for the excruciating pain i had in my(L) knee, and what he told me just made me more depressed. He said as you are too young right now, but later on when i am older I will need total knee replacement on both knees. Also for now, he gave me a shot in my knee for the pain , for now it seems to work.,but i possibly will have to have knee surgery(laser)soon.
Well that is it for now, still having pain, will keep you all posted.feel free to :email:

Hi Lydia

I am sorry you were in so much pain this weekend. Hopefully that level of pain will not return anytime soon.

As far as your knee problems goes, I have had 3 knee surgeries in my life. I am 41. Doctors have always told me the same thing, no knee replacement until at least age 40. I guess because the hardware only has a 10 year life or something. So, I have made do o.k. i guess.

It was nice talking with you in chat the other night. You hang in there, things will get better real soon.

knee replacement

THanks Lori,
That is reassuring...the doc might do a arthoscopy on my left knee. HE is a good and i have been to him before..BUt for now, he told me to ice it and take my Arthrotec for the swelling.

In 6 weeks i go back to him and he will let me know what his decision is...BUt he doesn't want to do too many more laser knee surgeries on me due to my age.

I have already had 2 on left and 2 on right. laser that is...I was doing good for awhile but then I started having severe pain. ANd if that wasn't enough the pelvic pain came back this weekend with a vengeance. So i got the heating pad back out, i have already burnt out two other ones, my oldest brother bought me one specifically designed to fit the pelvic region even in oversized women. He is always thinking of me,even though he is now married.

Anyway, managed to find some percocets and that is how i got through the weekend. It was old meds but i didn't care, anything to help my pain. So heating pad on my pelvic area below my belly button and icepak on my knee. How about that combination. Doing somewhat better today. I believe the weekend thing was nerves...BUt i was not going to waste time at E.R. which is where they suggested I go, but they all ways tell me to return to my doc and i always leave without answers. , so i didn't go..

Well i will be in touch.
Love ya,
Lydia/endo34

Lydia, I'm sorry you're having so much pain. I just read that you took some 'old' medication to get you through the weekend. Please ask your doctor for a new prescription. Taking old meds isn't a good idea. Not only might they not work, but they could also do serious harm.

Hope you feel better soon.
