TAH 13 days post hysterectomy - Dressing removed - I'm nauseated!

I had a TAH on February 24th. Over my incision they placed a PICO dressing which is a negative wound pressure dressing. It's like a battery operated press vacuum dressing. I had my first dressing change last week (dressing lasts 7 days) and I just took off the second dressing and I immediately felt nauseated and extremely tired (I also took a brief shower). Has anyone else experienced this?

I've never heard of a PICO dressing. My vertical incision was closed with staples and the nurse changed and cleaned my incision site on Day 2. I got my staples removed a week after surgery and they placed steri-strips on after that. They eventually fell off. Is there any particular reason why you have to do dressing changes?
