Life After Hysterectomy

Hello everyone! Its been 1 year for me - and it was a long year! I remember reading a lot of posts where women said it took them about a year to return to 'normal'. That was the case for me. About a month before my hysterversary I noticed that I felt really REALLY good again ..so even if you aren't feeling quite like you are back to normal a few months post op don't get discouraged !! My advice though - if you start developing issues due to your ovaries going wacky, definitely talk to your doctor and get help right away - don't suffer through it. I was not put on HRT, but am on estrace creme and effexor. It made a huge difference in how I felt. I spent the last year dealing with a lot post surgery - seemed to have every issue - from bowel problems to anxiety, and awful hot flashes..now everything is better. I learned to be patient with my body - and I tried to stay positive - and come here when I had questions or just needed to vent - and now - what a difference!! Good luck to all of you!! Hugs!
