9th day and... feeling fine but?

Hello!

It's my 9th day since TAH. Been home 3 days now. I feel fine. I tire easily but it is to be expected. I hardly cough now. Had 2 good nights sleep so far (at last!). BM is fine (works too well for my taste in fact). I have a bit of discomfort at times but painkillers work well. I could even say I am beginning to be a bit bored...

I know you will all find this very silly but... I am a little scared to express to DH, family and friends I feel fine. Just in case something goes wrong. In other words I don't want to get excited too soon. After all it's been 9 NINE days only.

Anyone feel or felt like this early after surgery?

9th day and... feeling fine but?

i'm at 3.5 weeks and i am still feeling that way. i keep saying i'm doing pretty well considering but i know that there is likely to be a setback...everyone seems to have one sometime around week 3/4.

i had a few complications early but nothing outrageous and i'm doing rather well...even going to my second full day of work today but yeah, i'm still nervous about what is around the bend.

take a day at a time. and be careful. if they all think you are doing fabulously well, if you do hit a bump in the road, it may come back at you...as in...well last week you were able to do that...i think yo are milking it...take it slowly and steady and hopefully you will continue to progress well.

happy healing!

9th day and... feeling fine but?

I felt that way too, outside of soreness I felt pretty good....so good that I took on too much and ended up doing NOTHING for 3 days. SO be careful with yourself! If you're still taking pain meds you might not be feeling everything that's going on. Remember not to push yourself, take it easy, and when something starts to bother you---stop.

9th day and... feeling fine but?

Hi Marie
I didn't feel good for a long time, but I think I can understand what you're saying and feel there might be some wisdom in being careful about what you say, not because you should worry about a set back necessarily, but because you are still healing and very, very early in your recovery. It seems friends and family can so easily get the idea that you really are ALL better when that isn't what you mean. Expectations can then be put on you to be all better way too soon. This may not be the case with your family, but I know I was careful on days when I felt better, not to be negative, but to make sure everyone understood that just because I was having a good day it didn't mean I was ready to take on the house. I don't think this is unusual at all. Take care of yourself. I hope your recovery goes smoothly with no setbacks.
's, Rita
