Home and hopeful....

Hi - To all of the kind ladies who sent me words of encouragment and support during my pre-op jitters - thank you all so much. You were wonderful to me and I cannot tell you how much you helped!

I am home now. Had my hysterectomy and ooperectomy (however it is spelled) removal of ovaries - all via laproscopic method. (Sorry, but I will get the correct terminology down now.)

I stayed in hospital overnight because I have a house filled with relatives from New Orleans. They all lost their homes and are here for a bit. So, the hospital was the quietest place believe it or not!

Anyway, everything went well. I feel pretty good - so far - but, I am taking this one day at a time. I have read around the site and know that ups and downs are not uncommon.

I will write more soon. I just wanted to check in and to thank everyone that contributes to this site for being a source of strength and generosity to others.

Take advantage of all the "company" and let them spoil you rotten--don't do so much for them that you don't heal. It's good to hear that you are doing well! REST,DRINK,WALK Hugs to you.

I agree with Gypsylady, let the company pamper you. Drink your water, get plenty of rest and follow your dr's orders. I will that you have an uneventful recovery. Keep us posted, Carol

This is the time to allow everyone to spoil you !! You've probably taken care of others all your life.. time to allow them to do that for you now!!
take time to recover.. and don't rush yourself .

So glad you are home. I totally agree that if you have a house full of people..let them pamper you..not the other way around. Make sure you take care of you. Welcome home.
