12 days and counting

Well hello Ladies. I am finally feeling somewhat better. All last week I was running a fever with chills, just basically regretting what I had done. I had phoned doctor last Monday and they wanted me to wait seven days to see if I was feeling better, but Wednesday I was miserable. My pain was worse than child birth. I was running a fever, nauseated, etc. Phone him on Wednesday and they treated me for a bladder infection. He told me to phone him by Friday to see if I felt any better, well I didn't. I went to his office that afternoon. They had me pee in a cup which showed blood in the urine, then he did a pelvic. OMG that killed. He also took a mini cath and drew some urine and that sample came out clean no UTI. He immedately sent me to the ER for a CT scan of ab and pelvic, along with dehydration. All the test came back good but the WBC was extremely high, and they wanted to tell me that I did indeed have a UTI from the sample they took from me. I had to argue with them and tell them that the doc did a cath and that came out clean. The moral of the whole thing is that I have a vaginal cuff infection. With 2 nite stay they loaded me up with antibiotics. Boy do I feel better. I now have a bloody discharge, I am unsre if that is normal or if it is from him giving me a pelvic. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I think your situation really shows that sometimes we have to be insistent when we know we don't feel right. I'm so glad you called and kept calling until they found out what was wrong.
It is hard sometimes to distinguish the difference between what's 'normal' and what isn't expecially since we're different in what we had done and in how we tolerate pain. I hope this is the end of any setbacks for you and your recovery will go smoothly now.
