15 days Post hysterectomy - want to sleep all the time!

Does anyone feel like they could sleep the day away? I know I was sleeping a lot the first week (3 naps a day)' and last week, 1-2 times, but yesterday and today, I wake up at 9, nap for 90 min-2 hours around 11, and feel like I could go right back to sleep.

I'm feeling good around dinner, but if I don't put my feet up, I'm done before my kids go to bed. Then I lay in bed and can't fall asleep quickly.

I did overdo it for Christmas, but was still less than I would do normally, and even got a 3 hour nap in there!

I'm not in much pain, only taking Advil in the morning and at bedtime, so this sleeping pattern is a bit odd! I just want to know I'm not the only one.

Thanks ladies! This is a really great support group!

Re: 15 days Post Op - want to sleep all the time!

You went through major surgery and our bodies do the best healing when we are sleeping so your body is just healing.
At the 6 week mark you should have more energy.
So just let your body heal and sleep.
And before you know it you will feel more energized

Re: 15 days Post Op - want to sleep all the time!

Im beat too. Its funny because people assume I am doing fine now because I look better, but I am SO wiped out and still sore. (I copied and pasted a little bit from my first "introduce yourself" post) Yes, I am THAT lazy and tired!

My surgery was Dec 9th.Total Laprascopic/cervix/tubes/uterus. So, I am two weeks and four days into recovery. I am off of work until Jan 19th.

Kept my ovaries, but with all the emotional ups and downs, you would think I did not. I feel nuts and can't get a good-nights sleep so end up feeling like napping too!

I over did it too and had a few days of paying my dues this past week/few days. Then Christmas day began to bleed a bit and cramp. Thankfully, that is all over (crossing fingers), I just needed to settle down and stop trying to do the laundry, run all over with my other half due to his car accident (perfect timing), and stop trying to be perfect friend and attend social events just to make the appearance. I have now resorted to staying in bed later, crocheting and watching what I can on the TV..reading some of my latest self help step parenting books and just "dealing" with having to be so "quiet".

Driving myself nuts having to be so still and not up and doing household things/kids/working etc.

Take Care!!!

I am sending best wishes for recovery and health your way!

Alissa
