bladder infection?

Just 1 day shy of being 4 week post op--TVH-- Following dr intructions, I've been doing fairly well.. well up until Sunday evening. Out of the blue, I started getting sharp stabbing pains on my left side, from stomach all the way down. After about an hour, it seemed to go away. On Monday, I woke up feeling like I did a few days after surgery--abdomen area sore, just feeling uncomfortable. I called dr office today and had to see a different dr due to mine being away. They took urine sample ( sent to lab as well) and said it looks like it could be the beginning of a bladder infection. I asked the dr if the pain that I had been having was associated with this--it could he said. He did only a "stomach scan" touching and asking if it were sore. He didn't do an internal exam-- ??? He gave me meds for bladder infection--he did say this isn't uncommon with surgery. Anyone else have this happen? I've had one bladder infection in my life and I will probably never forget the pain that comes with it---

bladder infection?

I had my bladder tack in jan with a dnc (which didn't help) soon after that I got a bladder infection.then came the yeast infection. It is common to get one after the bladder so be ready.. then in July the pain was back they through it was a bladder infection again so i was treated again .It was the start of my TAH. Drink cranberry juice (I like crangrape) They say it doesn't help but I think it does. Take care.

You are telling my story!

I have almost the exact same profile you just described, except I also had my 5-1/2 week old laparoscopy incision burst open and start to ooze. (TMI, yes?) I see the OB tomorrow. I'm guessing I have a bladder infection and a slight surgical infection, though I'm no doc and that's why I have to go see one! I will post the results as I'm sure I have several interested sisters. Good luck--and I agree with the cranberry juice suggestion. I think it helps, too.
