Need to go back to work in 2 weeks?
I am 3 weeks post op, I still have some pain but only use percocet 2 times a day along with the rest of my regular meds (i have lupus and fibromyaliga), I am still very tired and can not stay out of bed longer than 5 hour. My wound is well healed but my belly is sore and remains swollen. The big thing is that I am always tired and when I am out I feel like I have taken a step back in my recovery. and don't forget the hot flashes 50 times a day.
I work 12 hours shifts as a critical care RN and only have 5 weeks of paid time off, I won't have to lift any thing but will be on my feet alot. I am worried about the lack of money comming in and also hate leaving the unit short.
I wish I had bought the belly band, does any one think it would help when I go back to work?

The belly band is a godsend, not sure I would wear it for any lenghty hours, but it definately makes a world of difference, I have worn mine for an hour or so it really does give support. did your doc clear you to stand for that lenght of time so soon? I know at 6 weeks most people are cleared to go back to the gym even. Take it slow and listen to your body your insides stitches take 6months or more to heal and you don't want to end up with scar tissue/adhesions and another surgery.

Need to go back to work in 2 weeks?
I got a stretch belly band at the hospital. I think it is like the belly band. I wore that 24-7 for about 2 weeks. I love it. It helped hold in my tummy so I would not feel my tummy drop when I stood up or flop to the side when I layed on my side. I just locved the help I got from it. I see no reason why you can't wear it to work.

Need to go back to work in 2 weeks?
i went back to work at 2 weeks, for 4 hour days (that stretch into 5 hour days). i had a vaginal hyst with one ovary removed. i go back to 8 hour days next week (at my 5 week mark) and am dreading it. i work at starbucks and am on my feet and running constantly. i try not to lift things but ... am worried i'm overdoing it. the catch is, it doen'st hurt when you do it, it hurts AFTERwards, so we can do damage without realizing it. money is an issue for me too.... (sigh) i hurt more today than i did the week after surgery. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! let others help you!
