Can Some One Please Help

I Am About To Under Go (lsh) On Dec. 2nd. And Yes They Have To Take My Ovaries. I Am 39. My Tubs Are Tied. Because 4 Grown Kids Is Enough For Me.
Yes, I Started Young.
I Am Understanding That This Will Put Me In Surgical Medopause.
Is There Any Way For Me To Get A Jump Start On This? As Far As What Comes Along With Medopause.
I Have To Take The Ovaries Because That Is What Is Causing A Lot Of My Symptom Problems Now.
(i Have Chron's) Also I Have An Over Sized Uterus, Fibroid And Cyst
(sorry, Don't Know How To Spell That One) On One Ovarie.
Any Way, Like I Don't Already Have Enough Chalenges, I Was Just Hoping That I Could Beat The Bird To The Nest. (figure Of Speech Here) Thank You For Any Help.
Also, Dose This Mean I Will Not Have Any Sex Drive Any More? My Labido Is Already Very Low And Causes Problems With My Husband And I.
Thank You And God Bless.

Can I get a jump on menopause?

Hi Scared39. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op, with a full hysterectomy - they took it all. I am 49 years young, so I was beginning perimenopause anyway but only mildly. I can only offer my experience so far - and it hasn't been bad at all. Because of the endimetriosis I had, my Doc won't start me on hormones yet, but by the looks of it - I might not need them anyway. I've been a little moody, a little hot now and then, and some insomnia. But all manageable so far - and my Doc said that if the symptoms were going to be here in a big way, they would be here by now. So - from my experience - do not worry about this. They have ways to control it with homone therapy if necessary. Just worry about getting through your surgery and taking care of yourself.

My best overall advice to you is - have plenty of help at first (even in the hospital with you - my daughter stayed with me and was a tremendous help to me when nurses weren't available), have some sweat pants ready at home, and some good books, movies or light hobbies to do to pass the time.

I'm starting to feel great now - it's worth it!!

Can I get a jump on menopause?

Hi,
I had my surgery when I was 42 and I also have 4 kids. Dr. advised that they take my ovaries as well, as that was the main cause of the problems. I was freaked at the idea of it, but I just couldn't take the pain anymore. The surgery was more difficult than I had anticipated and the recovery was long. It took me quite a while to find the right combination of HRT, but it is all working for me now. I did have days that I doubted that I did the right thing, but for the majority of the time, I knew that it was the best thing that I could have done for myself. As for libido, it is better now than before surgery. It is still not what my husband would like but ..
Quality of life is what you need to focus on, and then make your decision. Good luck and I am sure that you will know what to do when the time is right.
