What's helped me
Well I'm 3 days post op. I had my LAVH on the 17th and today is a good day. I ended up taking a Laxitive, I was so bloated and miserable yesterday. Laxitive might feel too harsh for some of you ladies in waiting, but boy do I feel better. Also Motrin has been better for pain management, mainly because it's and anti-infalmitory. The Vicodine feels great, but leads to constipation. I've been taking 800mg of Motrin every 8 hours and it has done wonders. I didn't take it last night, and I noticed a big difference this am. I also asked my doc for something to help me sleep, 'cause I'm so tired of being tired. He gave me Abmbien. Only 3 days worth 'cause they are additing. But I only woke up once last night. Bendaryl, will help too! Best of luck to you ladies in waiting. Just to let you all know that If I can do this anyone can, 'cause I am THE biggest wuss in the world!!!

What's helped me
Christy=
So glad you are doing so well. I am 9 days post op today. I also ended up taking laxative (exlax) as opposed to taking metamucil, yuck. And it worked, boy did it ever, lol.
I also have been taking motrin during the day but then I take percoset at night so I can sleep. I am a side sleeper and when I take the percoset it doesn't seem to bother me to sleep on my side all night (well, maybe it does but I just don't care, lol).
Take things slow and glad you are home!
